Richard A. Tamor
Mr. Tamor received a B.A. with highest honors from the University of California at Berkeley and a J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles where he served as an Editor and Production Manager of the U.C.L.A. Law Review.
Mr. Tamor began his career by gaining unparalleled experience in the judicial and litigation process as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Howard D. McKibben, United States District Judge for the District of Nevada.
Following his government service, Mr. Tamor practiced with a San Francisco law firm in the areas of civil and criminal litigation in both federal and state courts. Mr. Tamor handled a variety of plaintiff and defendant civil litigation, such as labor, breach of contract, general commercial and real estate disputes. He also handled white collar and general criminal cases such as criminal tax, environmental laws (including the Clean Water Act, CERCLA and RCRA), violations of the federal food and drug laws, U.S. Customs violations, Racketeer Influence and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO), Immigration and Naturalization Service violations, real estate fraud, mail fraud, wire fraud, health care fraud, money laundering, federal securities violations, gambling violations, computer crimes, violent crimes, drug and narcotics offenses, and driving under the influence/ DUI/ drunk driving offenses.
Most recently, the Judges of the Northern District of California appointed Mr. Tamor to serve as a Lawyer Representative to the Ninth Circuit from the Northern District of California. Mr. Tamor also serves on the Northern District of California Federal Criminal Trial Panel, the Northern District of California Ninth Circuit Appellate Panel, and the Northern District of California Death Penalty Habeas Panel.
Mr. Tamor has handled numerous high profile matters and has been quoted extensively by the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Examiner, SF Weekly, and the Recorder. He has given interviews to local television news stations and he has appeared on National News Programs 48 Hours Mystery and 20/20. He has also appeared as a character in two novels.
